Lunchlecture
May 15 @ 12:30 - 13:30

Coatings are everywhere; not only as the finish on cars or the paint on your walls, but also as the waxy layers on leaves, or the aluminium layer on food packaging to prevent air from getting in. Harnessing the benefits of such ‘functional coatings’ can improve the entire purpose of the material underneath, or add new ones. Conventional coatings usually contain harmful solvents or additives, and have limited functionalities. During the next lunchlecture Martijn de Heer Kloots will tell us about his research to improve on the usage of water-based polyelectrolyte mixtures, and adding new functionalities to these coatings.
